Why we exist
The process needed a scoreboard
Parents spend tens of thousands a year and are left guessing whether any of it is working — relying on vague feedback, bench politics, and gut feel.
Players get judged on a few good or bad shifts. The result is stress, drama, and decisions made on the wrong information. We think development deserves better than that.
Shift Excellence exists to fix it. We take a player's real games and turn them into something objective: a coach-style report, an OVR rating, and clear comparisons. When the conversation is grounded in data, the politics get quieter and the development gets better.
We don't replace your coach. We give the development they're working toward a scoreboard.
What we've built
A foundation of real games
We've processed real data from 7,315 players across 230 teams and 6 leagues — 16,994 stat rows and counting.
That foundation — starting with the CSSHL — powers the OVR rating, the Game Reports, and the benchmarks we publish. And we only publish the ones the data actually supports.

We won't fabricate benchmarks and we won't promise your player the NHL. It's a development tracker, not a draft prediction.
Privacy first
This is minors' data. It belongs to families, it's private by default, and it can be deleted anytime.

We take the responsibility of handling young athletes' data seriously. Player data is yours, profiles are private unless a parent chooses to share them, and we follow PIPEDA. Read the full privacy policy.
