Your player loads on the left side of the Compare page. Have more than one player? Switch between them with the dropdown. No roster yet? You can search for the left side too.
Search by name for the other side — anyone who's joined Shift Excellence, plus junior and pro-track players from our league database. A younger player whose family hasn't claimed their profile yet shows up so you can find them, but the full comparison unlocks once their family claims them.
The instant side-by-side skill view is part of the Pro plan. The full Deep Stat Comparison report costs 1 puck and takes about a minute to generate.
VERDICT
Who wins the comparison, category by category, with a plain-English summary of what separates the two players.
LEAGUE RANKINGS
Where each player ranks within their own league — goals, assists, points per game, and more. Each player is measured against their own competition, so a U15 player is never punished for not putting up U18 numbers.
PRO TRAJECTORY
An NHL player whose junior numbers each player's season most resembles. A reference point, not a prediction.

A Deep Stat Comparison costs 1 puck ($4.99 a-la-carte). On an active Pro plan they are free and unlimited — compare your player to anyone, as much as you like, and keep all 20 monthly pucks for game reports. (During a 7-day trial, a comparison costs 1 puck from your grant; unlimited kicks in when your first payment goes through.)
Every report you buy is saved. Re-opening a comparison you've already run — same two players — is free: you get the saved report back instead of paying again. Find past comparisons on your Reports page.
When new games come in for either player after a report was generated, we'll tell you — and you can update the comparison for 1 puck (free on an active Pro plan) to fold the new games in. The refreshed report replaces the old one.
What does the "—" mean on a skill?
That skill isn't measured yet for that player. Some skills (like skating and checking) can't be graded from a box score alone — they need detailed game stats. The report never guesses; it shows a dash instead.
How accurate is a comparison against a player who hasn't joined?
It uses their official league season stats, which is real data — but box scores only. If a player has no detailed game stats uploaded, the report tells you so and treats that side more cautiously.
Is it fair to compare players in different leagues?
Each player's rankings are computed against their own league, not each other's. The report compares how each player performs relative to their own competition.
